Saint-Ouen is a town of markets, not one market
The Saint-Ouen flea market, just past Porte de Clignancourt, is about a dozen separate markets side by side, each with its own character, and it trades on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with Monday the quietest and many stands shut. Dealers open mid-morning. The stalls you pass first, under the ring road from the metro, sell new knock-offs and are not the market at all; keep walking. At Vanves it is the reverse of Saint-Ouen: stalls go up from about seven on weekend mornings and the best pieces go early.
