How a $300 tour booked through NUM pays ★6 backA $300 tour: the brand pays NUM $24 commission, and a quarter of it, ★6, comes back to the traveller as Stars. Your tour · $300 The brand pays NUM · $24 (8%) Back to you · ★6 in Stars
Rates differ by brand (about 3–8%), so Stars back work out to roughly 1–2% of what you spend. Stars arrive once the brand has paid NUM, sometimes a few weeks after your trip.

Your familiar’s passport fills up

Every confirmed booking stamps your familiar’s passport for that country and grows it in its own way. It becomes the record of where you have really been.

Questions

How much comes back?

A quarter of the commission the brand pays NUM for your booking. Brands pay NUM about 3 to 8% of what you spend, so it works out to roughly 1 to 2% of your booking, as Stars. A $300 tour at 8% pays NUM $24, and ★6 comes back to you.

What is a Star worth?

One Star is one US dollar. Stars arrive as Shooting Stars (100 make a Star), sit in your NUM wallet, and you can cash out once you have 10 Stars.

When do my Stars arrive?

Once the brand has confirmed your booking and paid NUM for it. Some brands pay a few weeks after your trip, so your Stars land then. A cancelled booking pays nothing.

Which brands give Stars back?

Most of the brands NUM works with, marked “Stars back” below. A few do not allow it, and NUM says so on the booking before you go.

Do I need an account?

Yes, so your Stars have somewhere to go. Booked while signed out? Join NUM on the same phone and the Stars find you on the next hourly check.

What is the passport stamp?

Every booking that gets confirmed gives your familiar a stamp for that country, plus XP and a nudge to its personality: shows build Energy, tours and trains build Adventure, cars and transfers build Drive. No two passports look alike.

Does this change what NUM recommends?

No. NUM picks on merit first, and only then puts the brand’s link on the button. What a brand pays NUM never changes the pick.
