How to spot a copycat visa site.

  1. Check the address. The EU’s own sites end in europa.eu. Most national sites use a government address.
  2. Be wary of “official-looking.” A flag or an EU logo proves nothing. The EU warns about sites built to look like the real channel.
  3. Compare the fee. If the price is far above the government fee, you’re paying a private service. They should say so plainly.
  4. Ignore ETIAS sales. ETIAS isn’t taking applications, so nobody can sell you one today.
Questions

The short answers.

What’s the difference between an eVisa and ETIAS?

An eVisa is a real visa issued online by a country that offers one. ETIAS is a planned travel authorization for visa-free visitors to much of Europe. It isn’t a visa, and it isn’t running yet.

Is there an EU eVisa?

No single EU eVisa exists for tourists today. Short Schengen visits still go through a consulate or visa center, and each member state handles its own applications.

When does ETIAS start?

There’s no start date. The EU says ETIAS isn’t in operation and will announce the date months ahead. Trust europa.eu over anyone else on this.

Is this check free?

Yes. Checking what you need and opening the official link costs nothing.

Does NUM issue visas?

No. NUM isn’t a government agency or a visa service. We show you what’s required and link to the official page.
