Worth knowing

The details for a Saudi passport.

Residents of Saudi Arabia apply directly on the JAPAN eVISA site. Nationals living elsewhere apply where they reside (eVISA if that country is listed, otherwise a sticker visa at the embassy). JAPAN eVISA is issued by country of RESIDENCE, not nationality: residents of Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, UK and USA apply directly online; residents of Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Mongolia, Singapore, UAE and South Korea apply through an accredited agency. Single-entry, short-term (up to 90 days), ordinary passports only, arrival by air (or the Busan/Shanghai scheduled ferries). No sticker: show the 'visa issuance notice' on your phone at check-in. Visa fees rose sharply on 1 Jul 2026.

Your passport

How long it must be valid.

Passport must be valid for the whole length of stay; Japan sets no extra validity period (airlines may apply their own stricter rules). If extending your stay, the passport must cover the extension.
