- Busstation Amsterdam Centraal — The bus station on the IJ side of Centraal, on the upper deck behind the station. Regional buses north into Noord-Holland start here, along with some city routes. (52.3799, 4.9002)
- Busstation Noord — Beside the Noord metro terminus. Since the north-south metro opened, many buses to Waterland villages such as Volendam and Edam leave from here, so take the metro first. (52.4020, 4.9318)
- Bus 397 Marnixstraat - Schiphol — The airport bus that runs from the Elandsgracht area via Leidseplein and Museumplein to Schiphol. Handy if you are staying on the west or south side of the centre. (52.3691, 4.8776)
- Busstation Elandsgracht — The small bus station by Marnixstraat where the Schiphol bus and several routes begin. Easy to confuse with a stop because it is a strip of kerb. (52.3689, 4.8769)
- Busparkeerplaats Museumplein — Coach parking for tour groups, not a passenger station. If your ticket says Museumplein, it is a tour pick-up, not a scheduled service. (52.3588, 4.8852)

Long-distance coaches rarely leave from Centraal
In Amsterdam, local GVB buses, regional buses and international coaches use different places. Regional buses to the north go from the IJ side of Centraal or from Noord metro station. International coaches such as FlixBus usually stop at stations on the edge of the city, such as Sloterdijk, rather than at Centraal; the exact stop is printed on your ticket and changes, so trust the ticket, not a guess. On city and regional buses you cannot pay cash. Tap a contactless bank card or phone on the reader when you get on and again when you get off.
