Monday morning is not a shopping morning
Plenty of independent shops in the Netherlands keep Monday mornings closed and open only around midday, a habit that has survived even in central Amsterdam. Sunday opening, on the other hand, is normal in the city centre, though smaller specialists may keep shorter hours. If an afternoon workshop is the plan, ask the shop directly whether it runs sessions and whether they need booking; several of the places listed here are shops first and studios second, and the ones that teach usually cap numbers.
