German Federal Foreign Office (Stand 11 Oct 2026): with a regular passport a visa waiver valid 180 days is issued on arrival, free, if you can show the purpose of travel, accommodation and a return or onward flight; it allows multiple entries and stays of 'maximal 90 Tagen im Gültigkeitszeitraum'. Holders of provisional passports (vorläufiger Reisepass) must get a visa from a Qatari embassy in advance; the German ID card is not accepted. Passport must be valid 6 months on entry. MOPH-accredited health insurance is compulsory for stays over 30 days. The Federal Foreign Office currently advises against travel to Qatar ('Von Reisen nach Katar wird abgeraten').
