Worth knowing

The details for a Turkish passport.

Turkish MFA: ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt in Jordan provided they do not exceed 90 days within 180 days (its Jordan travel notice repeats the 90-days-in-6-months rule and refers to a September 2025 amendment of Jordan's residence and foreigners law). Turkey is not on the MOI restricted list. CORRECTION: the previous pass doubted this because Jordan reimposed visas on Turkish citizens in 2016; the current Turkish MFA pages say visa-exempt. Passport valid 6 months (Turkish MFA). Register with police if staying over 14 days (general rule).

Your passport

How long it must be valid.

At least 6 months from arrival (FCDO, updated 7 Oct 2026; State Dept, updated 14 May 2026).

What changed

Recent changes in Jordan.

  • 2026-01 — Visa-on-arrival and e-visa stays were reported extended from 30 to 90 days with no fee change (VisasNews, Jan 2026, cited on Wikipedia). FCDO now says the JOD 40 visa 'is valid for 3 months' and State Dept lists a '3-month single-entry' visa. Smartraveller and the Jordan Pass FAQ still say 30 days or 1 month.
  • 2025-10-01 — New rule (per Irish DFA): stays over 14 days require reporting to the residency office of the nearest police station; failure means a JOD 200 fine on departure. The Turkish MFA also refers to a September 2025 amendment of Jordan's residence and foreigners law.
  • 2025-11-09 — MOI restricted-nationalities page shows 'Last update: 09/11/2025' (read as 9 Nov 2025): 53 countries need prior approval. Vietnam, Albania, Moldova and Colombia are not on it, although the Jordanian Embassy London and Jordan Pass lists still name them.
