The neighborhood decides the noise more than the hostel does
In Paris the area sets the tone more than the brand. Hostels by Gare du Nord and Pigalle tend to run late and loud; the Marais and the Latin Quarter are calmer after midnight. Whatever you choose, every night carries the taxe de séjour, a per-person tourist tax that is added on top of the quoted bed price and was raised sharply in 2024, so it can be a noticeable share of a cheap dorm bed. Most hostels have lockers but not padlocks, so bring your own.
