German Federal Foreign Office (Stand 11 Oct 2026): 'Deutsche Staatsangehörige benötigen für touristische und geschäftliche Zwecke bis zu 90 Tagen kein Visum'; longer stays need approval from the immigration police. Passport, provisional passport and children's passport accepted; the German ID card is NOT accepted. Passport must be valid 6 months on entry; leaving Morocco on an expired passport is not possible. Make sure the passport is stamped on entry. Extensions beyond 90 days are made at a police station. Exporting dirhams is illegal; drones are confiscated without prior authorisation.

Carry 6 months' validity. FCDO (reviewed 19 Aug 2026): expiry at least 3 months after arrival. State Dept (Jun 2025): at least 6 months at entry. Canada: 6 months beyond the date you leave. Irish DFA: 6 months from entry. Airlines may apply the stricter rule. German FO (11 Oct 2026): 6 months at entry. Netherlands Worldwide (Jul 2026): valid for the whole stay.
Recent changes in Morocco.
- 2026-08-19 — FCDO review of the Morocco advice. Its entry page now gives a 3-month passport validity rule (State Dept, Canada and the Irish DFA still say 6 months) and a foreign-currency declaration threshold of MAD 100,000.
- 2026-07-20 — Morocco suspended acceptance of visa confirmation letter (VCL) applications for Taiwan (ROC) passport holders; letters issued earlier remain usable within their validity.
