Amsterdam's flea markets keep a weekly and a monthly rhythm
The regular fixtures are simple. Waterlooplein runs Monday to Saturday, the Noordermarkt flea and the Lapjesmarkt fabric stalls are a Monday-morning affair, and the Noordermarkt turns organic food market on Saturdays. The one people plan trips around is the IJ-Hallen at NDSM in Noord, billed as Europe's largest flea market, which runs roughly one weekend a month; check the dates. At all of them the dealers do their buying in the first hour, so the best pieces go early and the bargains come late.
