The airport stations take a different ticket
The metro runs to both airport terminals on L9 Sud, but the two airport stations are outside the normal fare: an ordinary single or a T-casual will not open the barrier there. You need the dedicated airport ticket from the machines, or the Hola Barcelona travel card, which covers it. The metro closes around midnight Sunday to Thursday, later on Fridays, and runs all night on Saturdays. Pickpockets work the busy lines, L3 in particular; keep phones out of back pockets.
