In Barcelona, padel has the courts now
Spain took to pàdel (padel in English), a doubles game played in a small walled court, and in Barcelona many former tennis courts have been converted. Tennis courts that take non-members are now concentrated in the municipal sports centres, marked CEM, and a few large complexes. Courts are usually paid by the hour through the centre's desk, website or app, and summer evening slots go first because middays are hot. Many centres do not hire out racquets, so ask ahead or bring your own. Clay is common, so check whether your shoes suit it.
