A New York pint is smaller than a Dublin one
An American pint is 16 US fluid ounces, about 473 ml; an Irish or British pint is 20 imperial ounces, about 568 ml. So the pint you order in a Manhattan Irish pub is roughly a sixth smaller than the one in Dublin, whatever the glass looks like. For football, the Irish pubs are where early Premier League kick-offs get shown, which on a Saturday can mean the first game starts around 7.30 in the morning New York time.
