- Swing Low: Harriet Tubman Memorial — Alison Saar's striding bronze of Tubman in a small Harlem triangle on St Nicholas Avenue at 122nd Street. Worth the trip uptown, and far less crowded than anything in Midtown. (40.8082, -73.9528)
- Mini Bean (2023) by Anish Kapoor — A mirrored bean squeezed under the cantilevered corner of 56 Leonard Street in Tribeca. Smaller than the Chicago original and visible from the pavement. (40.7175, -74.0061)

Half the famous statues are on one path in Central Park
If you only have an hour, walk the Literary Walk at the south end of the Mall in Central Park: Shakespeare, Robert Burns, Walter Scott and others line one tree-arched path, and it leads straight on to Bethesda Terrace. That is the "pass it anyway" circuit. The ones worth crossing town for are the outliers — Tubman in Harlem, Alma Mater at Columbia, the lions on Fifth — because each sits in a neighbourhood that repays an afternoon.
