Worth knowing

The details for an Australian passport.

Smartraveller: Australians may get a free 14-day entry visa for tourism, which may not be extendable; stays over 14 days need a paid visa. Conditions (Omani MFA, page updated 22 Sep 2026): passport valid 6+ months, return ticket, confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance and enough money for the stay. The 14 days cannot be extended or converted. For longer stays, get an ROP eVisa (Tourist Visit Visa, Unsponsored) before travel; FCDO says a visit visa can also be bought on arrival at airports, but recommends applying online. Also eligible for the Qatar-Oman joint tourist visa (30 days, multiple entry, issued on arrival).
