- バスタ新宿 — Busta Shinjuku, the big highway bus terminal stacked above the south side of Shinjuku station. Overnight and day coaches to Kyoto, Osaka, Mount Fuji and far beyond leave from here, plus airport buses. (35.6887, 139.7008)
- バスターミナル東京八重洲 — Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu, underneath Tokyo Midtown Yaesu on the east side of Tokyo Station. Opened in 2022, indoors, and a hub for long-distance and airport routes. (35.6793, 139.7690)
- 八重洲南口ハイウェイバスターミナル — The JR highway bus stands outside the Yaesu south exit of Tokyo Station, where the JR Expressway coaches load. Not the same place as the terminal under Midtown Yaesu, so check which one your coach names. (35.6795, 139.7688)
- 東京シティエアターミナル — T-CAT at Hakozaki, a terminal built only for airport limousine buses to Narita and Haneda. Useful if you are staying near Nihonbashi or Ningyocho. (35.6820, 139.7876)
- ハチ公バス 渋谷駅東口 — A stop on the Hachiko Bus, Shibuya ward's small community bus. The opposite end of the scale from the coaches above: a short hop through residential streets for a low flat fare. (35.6583, 139.7037)

Two different bus systems share the same streets
Local city buses in central Tokyo, such as the green-and-white Toei buses, charge a single flat fare: you board at the front, tap an IC card such as Suica or PASMO, and leave by the middle door. Highway coaches and airport limousines work differently, with fares by distance and seats often sold ahead, and they leave from a handful of big terminals rather than street stops. Most rows here are ordinary local stops; if the ticket in your hand names a city hundreds of kilometres away, you want Shinjuku, Tokyo Station or T-CAT.
