Japan is nine hours ahead of London in winter and eight in summer, and it never changes its clocks. A Saturday 3pm kick-off in England starts at midnight in Tokyo in winter and 11pm in summer, and evening Six Nations or Champions League games can land in the small hours. Irish pubs here will often stay open for a big game, but not always, and closing time is up to each pub, so check ahead before planning a night around it.
