No cap, no flip-flops, no swim
Every Italian pool enforces the same kit rule, and it catches visitors out constantly: a cuffia, a swim cap, is compulsory in the water, and ciabatte, poolside flip-flops, are compulsory on deck. Staff will send you out without them, so pack both or buy them at the desk. Look for nuoto libero, free swim, which is the session type non-members can usually pay for by the entry. Enrolling in courses or a membership normally needs a medical certificate for non-competitive sport, which is why a single free-swim ticket is the visitor's route in.
