One flat ticket now covers the whole region, airports aside
Since January 2025 the metro, the RER and suburban trains across Île-de-France share one flat ticket, so a ride of two stops costs the same as a ride out to the edge of the region. The exception is the airports: journeys to or from Charles de Gaulle and Orly need the dearer airport ticket, and that includes line 14's Orly stop. Buses and trams take a separate, cheaper ticket. Paper tickets have largely given way to the Navigo Easy card or a phone, and you keep the ticket until you are out of the station, because inspectors check in corridors as well as on trains.

The big interchanges are Châtelet, République, Montparnasse–Bienvenüe, Gare de Lyon, Gare du Nord and Madeleine. For speed across the center, head for a stop on line 14, such as Madeleine or Gare de Lyon.
