Verified means NUM read it on a government page on 10–11 Oct 2026. Likely means a reputable source says it and one official page agreed. Not checked yet means NUM could not confirm it: use the official page. Fees are as published on that date and can change.

For every visitor

The rules everyone meets at the border

Passport

Visa-free visitors: valid at least 3 months beyond your planned departure and issued within the previous 10 years (MFA). Visa holders: valid at least 3 months beyond the visa's expiry, with 2 blank pages (MFA). US State Dept says 3 months from arrival; FCDO 3 months after you leave. Passports reported lost or stolen are refused. Safe standard: 3 months beyond the day you leave.

Arrival card

No arrival card for most visitors.

Border systems for every visitor

None. Albania is outside the EU and Schengen, so EES and ETIAS do not apply.

Onward ticket

A return ticket may be requested at the border.

Proof of funds

May be requested at the border. Indicative amount: ALL 5,000 per adult per day and ALL 2,500 per minor per day. The Chinese Embassy in Albania states the same rule as about EUR 50 per adult and EUR 25 per minor per day, in lek, convertible cash or a credit card with enough limit.

Travel insurance

Not listed as an entry requirement by FCDO.

Vaccinations

Yellow fever vaccination certificate required if arriving from a country with yellow fever transmission risk (US State Dept: travellers aged 1 year or over).

Cash to declare at customs

Cash limit on entry and exit: ALL 1,000,000 (about USD 9,500) per US State Dept. Declare anything prohibited or subject to tax or duty (FCDO).

Medicines, vapes and banned items

Importing or exporting narcotic and psychotropic medicines is prohibited; carry prescription medicine in its original packaging with the doctor's prescription. Weapons, endangered wildlife and plants are strictly regulated, and counterfeit or pirated goods are prohibited.

Travelling with children

Visa applicants under 18 must include parental or guardian consent.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due

NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.

Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
