Verified means NUM read it on a government page on 10–11 Oct 2026. Likely means a reputable source says it and one official page agreed. Not checked yet means NUM could not confirm it: use the official page. Fees are as published on that date and can change.
The rules everyone meets at the border
Passport
Valid for the whole stay (FCDO; US State Dept: valid at entry). e-Visa applicants: valid 3 months beyond the visa, issued within the last 10 years, 2 blank pages. Per a secondary source, since April 2025 citizens of 17 countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, DR Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen) need a passport valid at least 1 year on arrival. Children whose passport photo no longer resembles them have been refused entry. Safe standard: 3 months beyond the day you leave.
Arrival card
No arrival card for most visitors.
Border systems for every visitor
No pre-travel authorisation for visa-free visitors, but compulsory health and accident insurance applies to all foreign visitors since 1 Jan 2026 (Resolution No. 602 of 26 Dec 2025).
Onward ticket
Required for e-Visa applicants (round-trip reservation). Not listed for visa-free visitors.
Proof of funds
Required for e-Visa applicants (bank statement); e-Visa holders must be able to show it at the border.
Travel insurance
Required. Mandatory for all foreign visitors since 1 Jan 2026 (Resolution No. 602 of 26 Dec 2025): health and accident insurance covering all healthcare needs, including medical treatment and repatriation, minimum GEL 30,000 (about USD 11,000), valid for the entire stay including arrival and departure days; Georgian or foreign insurer, with the mandatory details listed in Georgia's visa information guide. Airlines at check-in or immigration officers may ask for proof; without it you may have difficulty entering.
Vaccinations
None required. No yellow fever risk or certificate requirement. US State Dept recommends hepatitis A and pre-exposure rabies vaccines.
Cash to declare at customs
Declare cash and financial instruments over GEL 30,000 (or equivalent) on entry and exit; undeclared amounts can be fined or confiscated. Exporting cultural valuables may need a permit.
Medicines, vapes and banned items
Very strict drug laws: non-prescription medicines containing codeine are illegal, and some ADHD medicines legal elsewhere are banned. Prescription medicines must be legal in Georgia; carry the doctor's prescription and original packaging and declare them; check ahead with the Revenue Service, a Georgian embassy or the State Regulation Agency for Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities (regagency@moh.gov.ge, about one month). Prohibited medication can lead to arrest, detention, heavy fines or prison.
Travelling with children
Carry each child's birth certificate (copy) or other proof of relationship. A child travelling with one parent needs a notarised consent letter from the absent parent or proof of sole custody; a child travelling alone or with others needs a notarised parental consent letter. Georgian authorities have sometimes stopped minors from leaving without a parent or guardian. Families have been refused entry when a child's passport photo no longer matched their appearance.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due
NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.
Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
