Verified means NUM read it on a government page on 10–11 Oct 2026. Likely means a reputable source says it and one official page agreed. Not checked yet means NUM could not confirm it: use the official page. Fees are as published on that date and can change.

For every visitor

The rules everyone meets at the border

Passport

Passport must be valid on entry and for the proposed stay; no minimum extra validity published. Mercosur/associated nationals (BR, BO, UY, PY, CL, PE, VE, EC, CO) may use a national ID card. Safe standard: valid for your whole stay.

Arrival card

No arrival card for most visitors.

Border systems for every visitor

No ETA for visa-exempt nationals. A 2025 decree (DNU 366/2025) created a sworn entry declaration including health insurance, but it only becomes enforceable once regulated (see travel_insurance).

Onward ticket

Officials may ask for a return or onward ticket.

Proof of funds

Officials may ask for proof of sufficient funds.

Travel insurance

DNU 366/2025 (29 May 2025) says foreigners must declare they hold health insurance and public hospitals may charge non-residents for non-emergency care; the sworn declaration is 'enforceable once its implementation is regulated'. As of late 2025 it was not being enforced at the border; status in 2026 unconfirmed. Carry medical insurance anyway - airlines have occasionally asked for it.

Vaccinations

No vaccinations required for entry. Yellow fever vaccine recommended for some northern areas (e.g., Misiones/Iguazu); some onward countries may ask for a certificate.

Cash to declare at customs

Declare cash and monetary instruments over USD 10,000 (USD 5,000 for under-16s) on entry and exit.

Taxes, levies and fees

No reciprocity fee (abolished 2016-2018). Airport/departure taxes are included in tickets.

Medicines, vapes and banned items

Carry prescription medicines in original packaging; firearms subject to strict permits.

Travelling with children

Children resident in Argentina (or non-residents who have stayed 1 year+) need notarised/Migraciones travel authorisation from non-travelling parent(s) to leave. Carry birth certificates (apostilled for US-born) for all minors.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due

NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.

Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
