Verified means NUM read it on a government page on 10–11 Oct 2026. Likely means a reputable source says it and one official page agreed. Not checked yet means NUM could not confirm it: use the official page. Fees are as published on that date and can change.

For every visitor

The rules everyone meets at the border

Passport

Valid on arrival and for the whole stay; Colombian authorities recommend 6 months beyond departure. Safe standard: 6 months beyond the day you leave.

Arrival card

No arrival card for most visitors.

Official form · free on the official site

Border systems for every visitor

None. Visa-required nationals apply online (Cancillería). CORRECTED: a US or Schengen visa replaces the Colombian visa only for nationals of Cambodia, China, India, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam (visa valid at least 180 days on entry, or US/Schengen residence; Resolution 5488 of 2022, art. 3 Literal C). Permanent residents of Pacific Alliance and Andean Community countries may be admitted without a visa (arts. 4-5).

Onward ticket

A return/onward ticket valid within the 90-day period may be required; entry can be refused without one.

Proof of funds

May be asked to show economic solvency 'as applicable'.

Travel insurance

Not required for visa-exempt visitors; all-risk health insurance is required for most visa applications.

Vaccinations

Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from certain countries, and may be demanded for some national parks/high-risk areas; carry it.

Cash to declare at customs

Declare cash above USD 10,000 (or equivalent) to DIAN on entry/exit and prove its legal source.

Taxes, levies and fees

Departure tax usually included in the ticket. San Andres/Providencia visitors buy a tourist card at the boarding gate (unless under 24 h); Leticia has a tourist card too. Canadians pay an entry fee on arrival.

Medicines, vapes and banned items

Dual nationals must enter and leave on a Colombian passport (and cedula).

Travelling with children

Colombian (incl. dual national) children and foreign children with Colombian residence need notarised permission from any non-travelling parent to leave Colombia.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due

NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.

Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
