For every visitor

The rules everyone meets at the border

Passport

At least 6 months' validity from the date of entry, undamaged and complete (damaged passports or missing pages are normally refused). For an in-country extension, the passport must be valid 6 months beyond the extended period. Safe standard: 6 months left on the day you arrive.

Arrival card

Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) card. Within 7 days before arrival; mandatory for air arrivals at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville (FCDO, Irish DFA). Replaces the paper immigration, customs and health forms; you get a QR code to show on arrival. Also via the Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) app; travellers who skip it complete the declaration on an immigration tablet on arrival (Taiwan MOFA). Fee: Free.

Official form · free on the official site

Border systems for every visitor

No separate authorization beyond the visa (e-Visa or visa on arrival) and the e-Arrival card. Foreigners must be registered in the Foreigners Presence in Cambodia System (FPCS): hotels and landlords normally do this; self-register via the FPCS app if staying in your own home or with friends. Failure to register can block visa extensions.

Onward ticket

Onward or return ticket required (Canada travel advice).

Proof of funds

Proof of sufficient funds required (Canada travel advice); no amount published.

Travel insurance

Not listed as an entry requirement by FCDO, State Dept, Canada or Smartraveller.

Vaccinations

Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from (Canada: or transiting an airport in) a yellow-fever transmission-risk country. Cambodia itself has no yellow fever risk.

Cash to declare at customs

Foreign currency over USD 10,000 must be declared on entry; foreign currency may be taken out up to the amount declared. Import and export of Cambodian riel is prohibited (US State Dept page last updated Apr 2023).

Taxes, levies and fees

Tourist visa on arrival USD 30 plus USD 7 processing fee, US dollars only (Irish DFA, updated 2 Oct 2026). Tourist e-Visa USD 30, single entry (Taiwan MOFA; cut from USD 36 on 1 Jan 2025 per a government announcement reported by trade press). Business (E) visa USD 35 on arrival or as e-Visa (Taiwan MOFA). Airport departure tax is included in the ticket price. Overstay fine USD 10 per day with no upper limit; overstaying more than 30 days means you must leave Cambodia as well as pay.

Medicines, vapes and banned items

Customs strictly regulates temporary import/export of medications, firearms, antiquities and ivory; check with a Cambodian embassy before travelling with these.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due

NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.

Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
