Verified means NUM read it on a government page on 10–11 Oct 2026. Likely means a reputable source says it and one official page agreed. Not checked yet means NUM could not confirm it: use the official page. Fees are as published on that date and can change.
The rules everyone meets at the border
Passport
At least 6 months' validity beyond arrival; passport must be undamaged. Lost/stolen-reported passports are refused. You must leave on the same passport you entered with (a replacement needs an immigration 'special pass'). Safe standard: 6 months left on the day you arrive.
Arrival card
All Indonesia (digital arrival card: immigration, customs and health declaration). Within 72 hours (3 days) before arrival; mandatory at all international airports since 1 Oct 2025 (pilot at three airports from 1 Sep 2025). Canada says you cannot clear immigration without it; Irish DFA says it can also be done on arrival. Show the QR code at entry. Fee: Free.
Official form · free on the official site
Border systems for every visitor
No ETA. Most Western and Asian passports need a VOA/e-VOA (IDR 500,000); ASEAN, Hong Kong, Brazil and Turkey passports (among ours) are visa-free for 30 days, not extendable. All arrivals complete All Indonesia; Bali arrivals also pay the Bali tourist levy.
Onward ticket
Proof of onward or return travel required to obtain any visa including the VOA/e-VOA (FCDO, Canada); Irish DFA warns one-way tickets on a short-stay visa will be denied entry.
Proof of funds
No fixed amount published for visitors; may be asked.
Travel insurance
Not required for VOA/visa-free tourist entry.
Vaccinations
Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country; otherwise none required.
Cash to declare at customs
Cash of IDR 100,000,000 or more (or foreign-currency equivalent) must be declared; carrying more than IDR 100 million in rupiah needs Bank Indonesia approval.
Taxes, levies and fees
Bali tourist levy IDR 150,000 per foreign tourist per entry to Bali, in addition to visa fees, also charged when arriving in Bali from elsewhere in Indonesia; pay online in advance via the official Love Bali site/app or on arrival. Some visa holders are exempt but must declare the exemption before arrival (2-3 working days, Taiwan MOFA). Some international airfares may not include departure tax.
Medicines, vapes and banned items
Cannabis, CBD/THC products are illegal even with a prescription; amphetamine-based ADHD medicines (e.g. Adderall, Vyvanse) are illegal. Carry prescriptions in original packaging with a doctor's letter and declare medicines on All Indonesia; do not mail medicines. Drug trafficking can carry the death penalty. FCDO (Feb 2026) warns that possession of CBD oil can lead to arrest.
Travelling with children
No Indonesia-specific consent-letter rule found in the sources checked.

Your checklist, with the dates it is due
NUM builds it for your passport and your travel dates: the authorisation and when to apply, the arrival card and the day it opens, what to carry at the border, your own country's exit rules, and a calendar file for every deadline.
Every document here is issued by a government, and the official link is the only place to get it. Most arrival cards and many authorisations are free. NUM is not a visa service and cannot apply for anything. Rules change without notice: the official page always has the final word.
